DESIGN FOR CHANGE INDIA 2019
Topic-Friends Of Earth
Feel-
- We have felt the quality of soil on Earth, the air we breathe, the water we drink is degrading day by day.
- Many times gardners burn dry leaves and organic materials after cleaning the garden which while burning creates smoke which have harmful gases like carbon monoxide, sulphur oxide etc which have harmful effect on human, plant and animal life.
- We humans are polluting are mother Earth to its fullest and are not bothered about its harmful effect.
Imagine-
Do-
- We thought of planting trees as it gives out oxygen and take in carbon dioxide and reduces warmth and pollution .
- We thought of making clothes bags from old jeans and t-shirts and distribute them in people and promote it and encourage people avoid plastic bags.
Do-
- We did a campaign #BYOC .
- We planted trees in barren land and talked to people around about planting trees and its benefits.
BYOC CAMPAIGN
BYOC means bring your own cup. We observed that teachers in our school drink tea and coffee in paper glasses which leads to wastage of paper so we decided to distribute some ceramic cups to some of the teachers so that they start taking tea and coffee in that and encourage other teachers to bring their own cup fir drinking tea and coffee.
Share-
- We had a discussion to the young friends of the Earth about the our topic and instructed them
- to avoid paper and plastic plates and told them to bring your own tiffin to take their snacks.
- We distributed paper bags to the genetiors our school so that they can also avoid plastic bags
- and use paper bags.
- We pasted poster outside our canteen to tell students to bring their own tifgins to buy snacks from our tiffin
